Give Things Our Partner Families Need! Minimize
Most homeless families come into our program with very few possessions - sometime a suitcase or two, sometimes not even that.

You can help homeless families by donating new or gently used items to Partners In Housing.  These items are available for free to PIH Partners through our donation room.  Please call Donnis at 325-5830 or e-mail Donnis if you are interested in donating goods.

Our Partners' greatest needs are
described below.

Disposable items: It's amazing how much it costs to buy the small, disposable things our Partners need: paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, feminine hygiene items, diapers & wipes.  Because these products are not covered by food stamps or other benefits, they are constantly in demand by our Partners.  Help Partners by donating these items, or better yet, run a donation drive for these items through your community group, church, or company.

Clothing:  While PIH accepts clothing of all types for men, women, and children, our highest clothing demand is for professional women's attire (all sizes).  We also always need children's clothing for all ages, including teens.  PIH accepts shoes, jewelry, purses, and other accessories.  Items can be new or gently used.

Household goods:  Partners need households goods to make their new house a home!  You can help by donating kitchenware and appliances, kitchen towels, bath towels, bed linens, pictures and decorative items, and more.  We especially need pots, pans, and other cooking utensils. We also need toys, games, books, and other items for children!  Items can be new or gently used.

Furniture:
Donate furniture to homeless families!  Whenever a Partner leaves our program, they take the furniture they've accumulated with them, so every time a family moves in they need new furniture.  PIH accepts most household furniture and appliances, as long as they are in good condition and/or working order.  We can sometimes arrange for pickup of larger items, depending on volunteer availability.

Furniture Exclusions:  PIH cannot accept couches with hidabeds or recliners in them, king size beds or mattress/boxspring sets (we will accept queen size or smaller), or any items in less than good condition.  These restrictions are in place due to difficulties transporting extremely heavy or large items, room sizes that cannot accommodate large items, and for the health and safety of our Partners.

Cars: Thinking of buying a new car?  Donate your old one to Partners In Housing!  You'll provide a homeless family one of the most essential things they need for self-sufficiency: reliable transportation!  If you're interested in learning more, please call Erin at 325-5835, e-mail Erin, or look at our Car Donation Fact Sheet for more details.
