Partners in Housing offices are currently open and we are accepting in-person applications at our main offices (455 Gold Pass Heights)! Applications will be available outside of our main entrance doors at 455 Gold Pass Heights or applications can be downloaded below. If you would like to apply online and wait for us to reach out to you, this option is available below. 

After your application is submitted, we will call you to review your application with you.

TWO TAX CREDIT BENEFITS

CHILDCARE TAX CREDIT – 50% TAX CREDIT

(and no, you don’t need to have children to qualify!) 

The most advantageous tax credit we offer is the Childcare Tax Credit which gives donors a 50% credit on their state tax liability! A popular misconception for this tax credit is that a donor needs to have children to qualify. That isn’t true. This tax credit was created to promote giving to nonprofit organizations that provide quality childcare in Colorado and so the state offers a special 50% income tax credit to taxpayers who donate to qualifying programs. Partners in Housing’s Child Enrichment Center is a qualified program and allows our donors to have this tax credit opportunity!
We accept donations for the Childcare Tax Credit by check and online! The chart below shows how to donate by either method.

How to Give and Qualify for the Childcare Tax Credit: 

Donors will receive form DR 1317 from Partners in Housing about 1-2 weeks after donating.

EL PASO COUNTY ENTERPRISE ZONE – 25% TAX CREDIT

Effective September 1st, Partners in Housing is excited to announce that we are now accepting online donations AND cumulative donations for the Enterprise Zone state tax credit program! Previously, a single donation of $250+ made by check was the only way to qualify, but now donors have the option of making multiple donations throughout the year as long as they total $250+ by year-end (minimum of $25 per gift) and have the convenience of donating online! This tax credit was created to encourage Colorado taxpayers to make contributions to non-profits that make improvements to the Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone – like Partners in Housing!
Important Note: For your donation to be processed efficiently and accurately, you must include specific information with your donation. Please reference the chart below to see what information should be included. Also, for those that give by check, please double-check the Payable to: line of your check. It’s different depending on if you give $250+ in a single donation or if you make cumulative donations.
How to Give and Qualify for the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit:

Donors that make a single donation will receive their tax credit certificate direct from El Paso County about six weeks after the donation is received by Partners in Housing. Donors that make cumulative donations totaling $250+ will receive their tax credit certificate about six weeks after December 31, 2021.

COVID-19 UPDATE

As we all deal with the impact of COVID-19 on our community and our nation, Partners in Housing staff continues to serve one of the most vulnerable populations, families experiencing homelessness.
 
Through the development of our Business Continuity Plan, we are serving our Partner families through consistent phone communication and implementing other technology to keep clients and staff safe and healthy. We continue to provide casework support, life skills classes, money mentoring and credit counseling, employment coaching, and of course, housing, to guide our families progress towards self-reliance.
 
The families with children who are living in the Partners in Housing program homes came to us from crisis circumstances. From loss of housing, domestic violence situations, lack of childcare, and transportation, the families started working towards independence, but uncertainties with health and economic issues have changed the needs of our Partner families.
 
Though Partners in Housing usually receives rent from our clients, based on their income only, we know this will be largely diminished due to COVID-19 related job losses. We are seeking funding from local donors and foundations and state and federal sources to replace rental revenue and are pleased to be in a position that none of our Partner families or tenants will be in jeopardy of losing their housing.
 
While we are able to continue to provide services, our Partner families need the support of Partners in Housing and our community more than ever, as they deal with a new and unknown kind of crisis.
 
  • Partners in Housing continues to accept applications for our transitional housing program and we hope you will refer families who are in housing crisis to us.

  • Our pantry located at our Colorado House facility is open on Tuesday and Thursdays from 11:30am to 3:30pm to allow families access to food, diapers, hygiene, and other cleaning products. During this time, we are only able to accept donations of the above mentioned items and are particularly in need of food items such as soups, pasta, bread, lunch meat, cheese, milk, fruit (canned, dried or fresh), toiletries and cleaning products.
 
We appreciate your past support in so many ways and ask that you continue to send your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes for all the families with children in our program.
