During the Holiday Season, families in the Self-Sufficiency Program are working to reach their financial and career goals, all while creating memories for their children. Check out the links below to learn more about how you can help families by giving items, volunteering with us, contributing financially, or giving food this holiday season to support hardworking Coloradans working toward independence. Here are the top ways you can help families in need:

Shop Black Friday Deals and Spread Holiday Cheer! 

Black Friday deals with #Amazon begin Thursday, November 21 and last through Friday November 29th. While shopping, please consider gifting items from our Black Friday Amazon Wishlist which is stocked with items that are specifically discounted for Black Friday!

Holiday Donation Needs

With 94% of the families in our program headed by single mothers and over half of our housing units being on the second floor without access to an elevator, furniture that is compact and can be easily moved is the goal.

High Priority Needs this Winter: Warm clothing including hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, boots. Holiday Decor including fake trees, battery powered lights, figurines, stockings, ornaments, and more.

Drop Off Donations at Our Donation Center 

Please note- If Tuesday’s donation acceptance falls on a snow day or a two-hour delay, donation acceptance is canceled!

Furniture Drop-Off Hours

If you are interested in donating your furniture, please send pictures of your items to our Volunteer and In-Kind Donation Coordinator, Tarin Hill, by emailing tpotter@partnersinhousing.org. Once approved, we will coordinate a drop-off time frame during business hours.

New Items 

If you have new items to donate and cannot make the Tuesday morning drop-off time, please reach out to us at tpotter@partnersinhousing.org and we will coordinate an alternate time during our business hours. We are unable to offer alternate times for gently used items due to limited staff and volunteer resources and we apologize for any inconvenience that may cause.

Furniture Donations 

Drop Off 

To schedule a furniture drop-off, please contact us by emailing tpotter@partnersinhousing.org with pictures of your items. Once your items are reviewed and approved, we will coordinate a drop-off time during our business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm at 450 Gold Pass Heights).

Pick Up 

We love our volunteers and only have the capacity to pick up furniture because of their remarkable efforts. Matching up schedules can take time and it may take three to four weeks for us to pick up your items. If you’re not in a hurry and would like to donate your furniture to families in need, please contact our Volunteer and In-Kind Donation Coordinator, Tarin Hill, by emailing tpotter@partnersinhousing.org. Please include your address (our pickup range is 20 min max from 450 Gold Pass Heights) and pictures of your items. Once the items are reviewed and approved, we will schedule a pickup.

Location: 455 Gold Pass Heights, Colorado Springs, CO, 80906. We do not accept donations of any other kind at the Front Desk of our main offices.

At the Colorado House, we also always accept…
  • Fresh food such as milk, cheese, meat, vegetables, fruit, and bread
  • Snacks for children in the Child Enrichment Center
  • Frozen food such as meats, snacks, vegetables, and more
  • Kitchen staples such as sugar, flour, baking soda, spices, and more
  • Non-perishables such as soups, beans, pastas, sauces, and more
